THE 2013 PEACE DAY PILGRIMS
LORD PROVOST BOB DUNCAN & LAMA JIGA

1 street, 1 square, 1 wish and all the flags of 1 world…

In 2013 we have 2 very special Peace Day Pilgrims to introduce.  Lord Provost of Dundee Bob Duncan and Lama Jiga, Buddhist teacher and the inspiration behind the Pilgrims For Peace Project.  On Peace Day this year they led a Peace March of over 200 people through the streets of Dundee to promote the shared wish for global peace.  The Lord Provost went on to outline his own personal wish for a peaceful and fair community and Lama Jiga led the gathered crowd in a Breathe For Peace mob meditation.  Now is your chance to walk the walk and become one of 2014’s inspiring Pilgrim’s For Peace.

In 2012 Maxim Laithwaite arrived on Scottish soil as part of his incredible 3 month pilgrimage through the British Isles to meet with Dundee Peace Day organisers and promote the message of Peace.

Walking with no money and relying only on the kindness of strangers for food and shelter, ex-military man, Maxim, dedicates his adventures to promoting awareness of Peace One Day initiative, Global Truce 2012.

Maxim began his journey in Derry, Northern Ireland, on 21st June and his final destination was Wembley Arena, for the Peace One Day Concert, starring Elton John, James Morrison, Jude Law and Peace One Day founder Jeremy Gilley on 21st September.

We can’t wait to discover what else Max has up his sleeve in the name of Peace.
